Description
The "Easy Bach Organ Album" presents works by Johann Sebastian Bach of easy to medium difficulty which can be played on smaller instruments and are therefore suitable for non-professional church musicians and organists. The edition divides into original works and arrangements by the editor. It contains a selection of ten chorale preludes, three preludes, various works from the "Well-Tempered Clavier", pieces for manuals from the "Schemelli Gesangbuch" and an arrangement for solo organ of the famous chorale movement "Jesus bleibet meine Freude" from Cantata BWV 147, "Herz and Mund and Tat and Leben". This anthology presents a varied overview of Bach's sacred and secular works and is ideal for teaching purposes providing an inspiring introduction to Baroque organ playing for beginner organists. - Ideal for non-professional church musicians and organists - A collection of original works as well as arrangements of works by J. S. Bach - Easy to medium level of difficulty - Can be performed on smaller instruments - Suitable as teaching material The editor Daniel Moult studied in Oxford and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists; he then continued his studies in Amsterdam with Jacques van Oortmerssen. From 1995 to 2002 he was organist at Coventry Cathedral. He teaches at the Royal College of Music Junior Department, the Birmingham Conservatoire and the RCO St Giles Organ School, London.
A score for vocalists that only contains the vocal lines. The instrumental parts are not there for reference. Generally, cheaper than a vocal score and requires multiple copies for purchase.
Facsimile of the Autograph
These are hardcover, research-quality reproductions of the original hand-written scores from the composer.
Hardcover
Some publishers print a hardbound, linen-covered version in addition to the standard paperback. The music inside is identical. These editions are beautiful though rarely cheap.
Orchestral Parts
Similar to a wind set, this is a collection of parts. In the case of strings, the numbers listed are the number of copies included, though generally these are available individually (often with minimum quantities required).
Paperback
When publishers offer multiple bindings (e.g. hardcover) or study scores, this is the "standard" version. If you're planning to play the music, this is probably what you want.
Performance / Playing Score
For chamber pieces, playing scores have all of the parts on one system. There are not separate parts for each player.
Score (Full Score)
For ensemble music, this indicates that the edition contains all parts on a single system (there are not separate parts for each player). In larger ensembles, this is for the conductor.
